Elections

There are two elections each year -- the Primary Election in May and the General Election in November.  You must be registered to vote in either election.

The Primary Election will be on April 22, 2008 and the General Election will be on November 4, 2008.

You can register in person at the Philadelphia City Commissioners office at 520 N. Delaware Ave., Riverview Plaza. Their telephone number is (215) 686-1505. Mail-in registration is also available.

You cannot vote in the Primary Election if you have registered as Non-Partisan. That is, the Primary Election is meant to select the representative of one party to face the other party in the General Election. So, if you are registered as a Republican or Democrat you can vote in the Primary Election only for candidates running on your party's slate. If you registered as a Nonpartisan, you can not vote in the Primary Election; you are only able to vote in the General Election.

Voting machines for Towers' residents are in the Community Room in the Shopping Plaza next to Travel Anywhere. The hours on election day are from 7:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m.

By early April we will provide complete information on each candidate, with appropriate links to all their Web sites.

Voting is extremely important; turnout at the Towers has always been extremely high. Please exercise your rights! We want our politicians to know about our concerns.
